Originally published by the editor, Peter Sanlon, in a paper based journal, the strongly positive response to the central thesis of this article was a large part of the impetus for setting up Still Deeper. The article raises the thorny question of how good expository preaching really is in modern evangelicalism. Emails and letters continue to arrive from preachers saying that this article puts its finger on something important that needs to be addressed. Hopefully republishing the article here will encourage more people to ponder how we can develop preaching ministries that are faithful to the great gifts and heritage God has given us.
